Executive House Keeper

Reports to: General Manager

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the complete Housekeeping operation of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, guest comfort, presentation, and service. The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for departmental efficiency, team performance, cost control, inventory management, and compliance with hotel andbrand standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Housekeeping Operations

  • Oversee the complete Housekeeping operation, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and service areas.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned, inspected, and released as per hotel standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest comfort.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of house areas.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office for room status, VIP arrivals, early check-ins,
    and special guest requirements.
  • Ensure effective room turnaround and maximum room availability.
  • Ensure a consistently clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Personally attend to guest complaints and special requests related to housekeeping.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure VIP rooms and special amenities are prepared as per hotel standards.
  • Manage linen, uniforms, guest supplies, amenities, cleaning materials, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure proper storage and issuance.
  • Conduct regular physical inventories and implement effective controls.
  • Minimize wastage, pilferage, damage, and unnecessary consumption.
  • Coordinate with Purchase and Finance for procurement and cost-control requirements.

Authority & Accountability

  • Accountable for the overall performance and standards of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining guest rooms and public areas at the required hotel and brand standards.
  • Authorized to recommend manpower, training, procurement, and operational improvements.
  • Responsible for departmental discipline, cost control, inventory, and team performance.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of operational and maintenance concerns.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management or equivalent
    qualification.
  • 15 to 17 years of relevant Housekeeping experience, preferably in reputed hotels.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in an Executive Housekeeper / Senior Housekeeping
    management role.
  • Strong knowledge of guest room operations, public areas, laundry, linen, inventory,
    and housekeeping cost control.
  • Experience in branded or upscale hotel operations is preferred.
